Best known for her work as novelist Jessica Fletcher on the tv series "Murder, She Wrote", she holds the record for the most Golden Globe nominations and wins for Best Actress in a Television Drama.

Over a career that spanned 8 decades, she amassed 5 Tony Awards (5 for Best Actress, plus a Lifetime Achievement Tony), 6 Golden Globes (4 for Best Actress, 2 for Best Supporting Actress), 3 Academy Award nominations (plus Honorary Award), 18 Emmy nominations, a Grammy nomination, BAFTA & SAG lifetime achievement awards.
