Chas.Alpha Posted September 17, 2022 Posted September 17, 2022 "You reached for the secret too soon.." Great line. Marvin Gaye: All. I'm listening to him cover "Ain't No Mountain High Enough". Preach! It's hard for us musicians to peg "Perfect." Music is perfection. The beautiful thing about it is there is no right or wrong. You may absolutely despise what I adore, no right no wrong. Music is painting a canvas with sound. To the original post "Vincent", Don Mclean painted a picture of an artist painting a picture. Brilliant. 1
TobaccoRoad Posted September 17, 2022 Posted September 17, 2022 This one stops me dead in my tracks everytime... "Sam Stone" by John Prine Dedicated to the late Duke C. Retired Marine veteran of the Vietnam War who sat down beside a mouthy, know-it-all 18 YO kid at a bar and taught me a whole lot about life in a 45 minute conversation before he even knew my name. He turned me on to John Prine a few years later when we went to see him perform live. Been a fan ever since. 1
