Popular Post TroutBum Posted August 30, 2022 Popular Post Posted August 30, 2022 With a low and clear water condition in the past week that was thankfully helped yesterday with 3 inches of rain in the area, the game has been hoppers in good faith if not so much good results with the knowledge that the mouse will do us justice this time of year. The hopper bite has been tough but the ones we have been getting to commit have been quality and have been consistently in the last half hour of light, that trend held true again on this night as we fished 7-8:30 with not so much as a refusal but from 8:30-9 each were able to get a decent one to eat the foam 18” starting to get those beautiful Pre Spawn colors With the hopper fish out of the way we anchor on a known lie and on my second cast the mouse gets crushed… high committal this time of year 21” Male Only got one other good photo of the night nice 19” male My buddy ended up with 3 biggest being a 19 Overall a good night considering conditions and might be one of the last runs in the boat for the mouse considering the salmon hordes are already showing up Josh 5
El Hoze Posted September 5, 2022 Posted September 5, 2022 Nice!! I am a saltwater guy and live on the water in South Florida, but we bought a ski place in Colorado that we are loving in the summer. Totally newbie to the trout game. Taking on trout fishing has been like learning an entirely new sport from the ground up. My wife is like you gotta be kidding me no matter where I take this guy all he does is fish. 2 1

Love the blue on the cheek of that guy, not short on options back home then! On 9/2/2022 at 9:17 AM, Ford2112 said: Browns are my favorite trout . Easily mine too the paradox of refusing a size 16 dry fly because it had the slightest drag on it while also being willing to crush rodent patterns on the surface and also wolf down baitfish patterns half their size literally keeps me up at night 1
