Popular Post hrs1 Posted July 16, 2022 Popular Post Posted July 16, 2022 Read @Tdm_86's great review and got inspired to try my first cigar from this box The cigar has that lovely sweet, honey aroma. I do a punch and get some vanilla and grass/hay. The draw is near perfect. First third is rich and nutty. My wife gives it a try and gets chocolate covered almonds. A couple puffs later and I get what she's saying. Burn looks like it needs a touch up, but corrects itself. On cue, the ash drops to start the second third and the cigar starts to take off. The nuttiness has receded. Honey dipped bread has taken over. Then "Cohiba grassiness" starts to come in. Just as I'm wondering where the citrus is, some lemon notes start to amplify. Now some vanilla. It's like a lemon bread dipped in honey and vanilla 🤤 Right on schedule, the second ash drops going into the final third. Burn is perfect. The vanilla fades. A nutty coffee note moves in. The bread is getting toasty. The honey, vanilla and lemon are coming in and out around the edges. It's like a honied toast paired with a rich coffee. Great down to the nub Overall, a 95/96 point, 1.5hr long cigar. Cohiba definitely has the highest hit rate of 94+ point cigars for me. But, I usually gravitate toward other cigars in the line up than the IV. This cigar and other great reviews are making me rethink that impulse 🥂 15
Tdm_86 Posted July 16, 2022 Posted July 16, 2022 Glad you enjoyed it! Once they get 4 to 5 years on them, almost always a great experience. 4
Popular Post MrBirdman Posted July 16, 2022 Popular Post Posted July 16, 2022 Siglo IV are for me the most hit or miss out of the entire Cohiba lineup. I've had a few that are true 95+ pointers, but most aren't. Never could justify buying more when I prefer the Siglo III by leaps and bounds, but I know some here swear by the IV's. Nice review! 5
