There is a slim possibility you migh have a physiological reaction, be it intolerence or mild allergic reaction to tobacco... There are a few health professional on this board, hopefully they could chime in with their opinion on the subject. That seems one plausible explanation. I have a mild allergy to sheep's milk and sheep's milk cheese has a tingly 9v battery taste/feeling to me at times. 1
Sir Diggamus Posted April 28, 2022 Posted April 28, 2022 If you only see this with cigars less than two years it is probably an age related issue, young or sick cigars. Luckily this get better with time. I have noted an astringent or chemically taste before in cigars of all ages, and have tossed a few because of it. I have always thought that it was a mold issue inside the cigar related to improper storage. 2
wine_junkie Posted April 28, 2022 Author Posted April 28, 2022 Yea, it’s definitely that taste of bitter/acrid/astringent. Definitely not pleasant and gets worse with saliva which brings me to the possible tar component….it’s definitely intense and off putting but I smoke on! I have experienced it with wetter, dryer, NC and Cuba….crap
