Chucko8 Posted March 23, 2022 Posted March 23, 2022 Sad news for tennis fans today with Ash Barty retiring from tennis at the ripe old age of 25. The second time in her career that she has retired from tennis. This time to explore dreams for her as a person rather than an athlete. Such a humble champion for me whom always played with integrity and respectfully. A good morale compass for some of the other so called professionals on the tennis circuit. 4
JohnS Posted March 23, 2022 Posted March 23, 2022 I am saddened to hear this news but I am happy for her. At least this way she leaves on top and with her well-earned respect and reputation solidly intact. 2

It is nice that she is able to go out on top and also that she is able to do it upon her own terms and be comfortable with the decision. I am also selfishly saddened not to see an Aussie potentially dominating for a few more slam titles. Though have nothing but the upmost respect for her and her chosen direction. 8 hours ago, Ken Gargett said: not bad when the last shot you play in your career is to win a grand slam in your own country. if you have to go... Yes indeed Ken! 1
