Hi all,

First post here. My name is greg and I am from Brooklyn New York.  I received this smoke a while back, but I can’t recall who it came from. I was swapping a lot back and forth through the holidays.  Most of the info I can find is that it’s a Punch SIR John from 2012.  Rolled in my favorite yet underrated vitola, Hermosos No 4.  If anyone can give any input, insight, cost, or flavor profile I would be truly grateful.  Hope you all are having a nice weekend.

*** if this is not the right place to be posting this feel free to direct me to the proper location.  Thanks.

Welcome to our forum @gregspringer1! If one does a search of this cigar on our forum, we'd find that there's been only three instances of anyone posting up a reference to it in the Daily Smoking thread and one review by our dear friend, Keith. You can access this review at his blog below...

That’s about all I could find as well. No sales on BR, hard to find solid recent reviews, recent cost etc.

One sold on BR in June 2020 for $580 which is actually a very good price for any ER 25 box: https://www.bondroberts.com/product/view/1919/Punch_Sir_John_Edición_Regional_Alemania_2012_Dress_Box_of_25_cigars

It seems to have indeed become fairly rare but I'm not quite sure why. 2012 wasn't that long ago and there were 50,000 sticks made. Germany is a easy export market. I am suprised only one box has surfaced on BR.

I believe reviews on the cigar were generally quite positive.

FYI, it is believed the cigar is named for John Aylesbury, a German tobacco retailing group. To this day it remains the only Punch ER for Germany and only the second Punch ER for the 5th Ave market (Punch Preferidos 2018 5ta Avenida).

Hell ya thanks brother. What did you type in on Google to get the BR listing? That is a great price on the box. I’m really looking forward to smoking it after the review I just read from John. I appreciate you taking the time to reply.

I wouldn't use Google to search BR. I suggest the Advanced Search tool on BR and select "all auctions" at the bottom:

As far as the $580 price, I would expect that to be much higher today. The market has risen significantly since June 2020. That box might sell today for 25-50% more. Brand new ERs are selling for $25-30/stick.
