Smoked a JL1 from my box that I've had for nearly a year and was one of the first box purchases I've made ever!  Got a 1/4 box from FOH beforehand that was just awesome, so was hoping this box would be the same.  So far...still good, but it's really been missing that orange flavor that I got in the 1/4 box(just a clearance grade so not hq/psp or anything)

Initially attempted to smoke this probably a couple months ago?  Was a tough draw so that night I just picked another cigar and went on my way.  Tonight I took out my perfecdraw and hit it a few times and got an acceptable draw.  Gave it a light and we'll see how it goes!

1 - Started off a little earthy and leathery with a floral hint.  After an inch in, I'm getting milano cookies - so light chocolate with that uhh cookie sweetness?  More of that cookie than chocolate.  Chocolate disappears and left with the cookie flavor, which is bready with a light sweetness to it.  Ends on a minty note.

2- Ash is holding on and the burn is sharp.  Getting a rich tobacco note that almost goes too far and gets sour.  Sourness gets to be a citrus acidity, no fruit notes just the acidity.  Sour candy is my favorite, so its not offensive but I wish I got more of a fruity note.

3- Acid dies down and left with the rich tobacco.  Nutty chestnut flavor goes in and out in the last third. 

Overall - 5.5/10 - just above average.  Shame I still haven't seen that orange peel note come through, but oh well it was still an enjoyable cigar.  Still have 15 left from this box, and with it being relatively affordable in a good size(Corona Gorda size are my preferred size) these have been my go-to if I'm ever wondering what to smoke.

I really like these but I've never gotten the orange peel flavour either. Milano cookies makes sense to me, often I just get a straight coffee cake flavour throughout. Nice review.

Nice review. I need to revisit this cigar, it’s been years since I’ve had one.
