Popular Post ChangBang Posted August 7, 2021 Popular Post Posted August 7, 2021 Smoked a BBF I got as a single from the store around the same time as the Xmas sampler - so thinking it's probably around the same date as that being Jun 2020? Been in my dry box for a 4 days and had it out on my counter for a day. Cut revealed a good draw so let's give this a light! 1 - Opens with a strong leather note with earth and cocoa. After maybe an inch, I'm starting to get cream come into the fold. Finished off with coffee and chocolate flavors with a bold leather being present throughout. 2 - Burn is getting wonky with it wanting to canoe real bad. Lots of touchups but that's a minor annoyance. In this third, flavors are starting to get more intense with leather, cream, and cocoa. 3 - More of the same with the 2nd third - leather, cream, and cocoa. Flavors get a touch lighter not being as strong as the 2nd, but still stronger than the 1st. Luckily I just filled up my lighter as there are lots of touchups and relights during this last third. Overall - 5.5/10 - The same ranking I've had as before. It's a slightly above average cigar, but I would reach for the BRC if I wanted to smoke a 1hr 30min+ smoke. I think I get stronger flavors in the other sizes with these being a bit muted. 5
Chibearsv Posted August 7, 2021 Posted August 7, 2021 Nice review. Your comparison to BRC is on the money. BBFs I've had are good but BRC are a step up in flavor for me too. 1
karp Posted August 7, 2021 Posted August 7, 2021 Nice review! It does sound like a BRC from what you describe. I’ve gotten some malty / honey flavour from the BBF too, but admittedly not always. This seems distinct from the BRC imho… maybe worth giving these another try sometime. 1
