Tried searching all of the cigar forums as well as Google, and can't find the answer, so here is my question:

Are fonseca Delicias and Cosacos the same Blend, just slightly different sizes, or are they different blends?

I have had a fair number of the Cosacos, but only 2 Delicias, and none of the 2 within months of each other to be able to compare for myself.

Yeah, I did see that on Habanos S.A's site and came to the same conclusion, but wanted to see if anyone knew for sure since I just ordered a box of Delicias, and am considering a box of Cosacos as part of next months order.

Just don't want to have 50 of the same Blend, just in slightly different sizes

I don't think anyone outside of HSA knows for sure exactly what tobacco goes in the different cigars, but I think it's a pretty safe bet to say that the flavor profile will be similar but not identical. I would smoke a couple of the Delicias first, if you really like them, then try the Cosacos.

Yeah, all HSA's website says about them is that the tobacco is from the same region in all of the fonsecas.

I only have 3 Delicias to try currently, but my box will arrive long before making my next order.

So far, i do like the delicias, and have liked the fair number of Cosacos I have had in the past, just too much time between them to be able to compare.

The Delicias are short filler while the Cosacos are long filler, so I believe they are a different blend.

I couldnt quickly locate the thread but I believe there was some previous discussion on the board that ~2015 and beyond Delicias production may have gone to long filler. Recall this because I have a 2015 box, so no real idea what I got going!

Yeah, not sure either. Habanos S.A simply said that 3 of the 4 vitolas are long filler, but don't specify which ones.

Regardless, I have had short and mixed filler before and never noticed any difference.

Unfortunately, they don't say anything about different vitolas being different blends or all being the same, simply different sizes, which is what I'm trying unsuccessfully to find out.

Google was no help, as was a search of like 6 forums.

FWIW the Delicias are excellent for the price; oddly enough reaching for them more often than my no. 1s. Suppose I could sacrifice a Delicias to surgery or maybe see what comes out with some perfec draw probing, but for a cheap/cheerful I am enjoying what I get out of them either way

I've only had 2 of the 3 I was given, but they were enjoyable enough to buy a box, which should be on its way early next week.

Pretty sure I have had the no.1's years ago, and have had some cosacos within the last few months and enjoyed them.

I like the fonsecas for a cheaper cc with a nice taste and consistent good construction
