Had to drive up and back to Brisbane to try and collect all my samples. Six hour round trip that is a pain in the arse. Anyway headed back and decided that with a full moon and a high tide and a good gutter in front it was finally time to have a fish. Been down here probably six weeks eight weeks and not had a fish yet so this was the perfect time. Except you think I can find the crucial box with gear. I know I brought it down but it is nowhere to be found and there I am running around looking when I hear crashing boxes. And tinkling glass. I race over and sure enough. Red wine flooding the lounge room. The family is just going to be over the moon with that. I pray that it is a $12 Riverland Pinot or something else forgettable. No. It’s coming out of the black box. And what is in the black box? A vertical of wolf blass black labels. Going right back to the Jimmy Watson winner in 1998.

Still, there are five other bottles so what are the chances? Apparently very good. We now have a very large stain of 1998 black label in the middle of the lounge room and I have to explain to Blass why they’re not getting the full vertical reviewed. And I still haven’t found the fishing gear. Not happy.

managed a quick fish on friday - dinner pictured in the pelican thread.

Sounds like a good, comforting cigar is in order

i'm pretty much restricted to outside and at the moment, an outside cigar in the dark and wind, also not that appealing. but otherwise, the perfect idea.
