Popular Post Midas Posted April 16, 2021 Popular Post Posted April 16, 2021 My second review for the competition and one of my favourite vitolas for a sunny afternoon when I have as much time as I like. Taken straight from the humidor which was reading 64% 17c. I like to V cut, if the draw isn’t great or there’s a tar build up I’ll straight cut at any point in the smoke, not needed on this occasion. Started off with very light smoke, mainly nuts and wood, no spice even on the retro. As the smoke progressed the woody passed and it developed more of an earthy flavour keeping the nuttiness and a sourdough on the retro. Smoked to the nub, sourdough and earth until the end. 2 hours 15 minute smoke time. Didn’t heat up or become spicy at any point, the ash held perfectly, only major downside was the uneven burn. The burn was wonky from the get go, a quick touch up around the end of the first third, then it seemed to sort itself out until just past the band when I had to touch it up a couple more times. Overall a very good smoke, great value for money taking into consideration how long it lasted. I’ve got a quarter box of these left and they’re definitely on the to buy box list. 8.5/10.
