High Co2 Seltzer water.

Good on its own, better with Churchill style highballs containing gin, rum, whisky.

There's a clear reason why he did this along with his cigars. Drink all day and still stay sober.

If a spirit, something with grains that has been aged in a barrel at 80 proof. Otherwise, espresso and sparkling water do best in not stifling the palate.

Port is my favorite but scotch, coffee, San Pellegrino or a nice scotch ale are close seconds. Depends what I’m smoking but Port goes well with just about any cigar.

San Pellegrino, black coffee and champagne pair well with any cigar imo. I struggle with sweet beverages and avoid them but that's just me.

Oh and a stiff Negroni might be my favorite pairing of all 😉

I'm a proofhound on bourbon and love a pairing with something from the Jim Beam family - anything barrel proof like Booker's. The 12+ aged Knob Creeks are great too.

Has to be coffee. Every day when get up, it's coffee and a cigar. Past 3 weeks pretty much been lancero or robusto from FOH fabrica. Really hits the spot.

Wine or scotch.

"Single best drink" with a cigar has to be 1931 Noval Vintage Port.

Who cares about the cigar at that point?

Hey guys, I'm relatively new to cigars/Cuban cigars. I have tried lots of combinations of whiskey (mostly bourbon but some Irish Whiskey). My favorite combination thus far was Weller 12 with a Bolivar Coronas Junior box date Jun 2023. Definitely recommend. Why? For some reason I get a real fruit note from this Bolivar and also lost of mango notes from this Weller 12 that is just flat out great and I don’t typically look for whiskeys or stogies for the fruitiness.

The first time I smoke any particular cigar, or want to see how it is aging? Sparkling water, unflavored, to clear the palate and focus on what the cigar is offering and how it is evolving through the smoke. Same thing I use as a sensory judge for coffee competitions. It can do a real disservice to being able to fully experience and describe all the flavor nuances if they're being drowned out by something else.

If I'm smoking an old reliable favorite and not worrying about precise tasting notes, I want a complementary pairing that either echoes the cigar's flavors or fits nicely alongside them. Coffee is my usual go-to with anything in the Montecristo marca. It's a good pairing for most cigars in general. I am fond of barrel proof bourbon, specifically Elijah Craig, and some of the different releases have very striking flavor notes that can be a good match for specific cigars. If I'm drinking a strong spirit, I'm more likely to opt for a fuller bodied NC cigar like a Liga #9 or a Padron. I have found Bumbu rum to be a pretty good pairing for CC's, as well as some tequilas with lighter and more floral notes. Some wines also work, but a wine pairing is an in the moment kind of thing. Most of the red wines I like with food don't play nice with cigars on my palate for some reason, so it's a bit of a tasting and pairing exercise to figure it out. A white wine or even a sparkling wine if it is of quality and not sweet can work better. But those don't always play nice with full bodied cigars. Wine pairings can be tricky. Port and sherry are a traditional pairing, but they can be a bit sweet for me. Teas can also be a good pairing. White and green teas can be very palate cleansing and match well with cigars that have hay or floral notes. Lapsang Souchong and some of the smoked Russian black tea varieties can also be a fun stogie pairing, though the result is not subtle.

Back in the day, I used to do occasional cigar dinner events where cigar courses were paired with food as well as drinks. Complicated balancing act with the flavors, but a lot of fun!

I don't drink alcohol so it's black coffee, lapsang tea or a fruit tea if it's cold out, tonic water or NA beer when it warms up. There's a lot of good ones out there now but Brewdog Nanny State is excellent with a cigar. I do need to find a good NA stout to try, I think that'll work well...

I do drink alcohol but not while I am out and about unless my spouse is with me playing designated driver and also designated CCW holder. Where I live, you may not drink and CCW, so I also reach for the delicious nonalcoholic options when away from home. I had a very nice nonalcoholic Negroni mocktail today with a Puro Desnudo Lancero. It was quite good! I also like Amaro Falso and Phony Negroni, though I tend to mix both with sparkling water as otherwise they are a bit sweet for me. There are some fantastic NA beers out there these days. I like Partake's NA Peach Gose. I haven't yet found an NA stout that really hit well for me, but I'm not much of a stout drinker so I haven't been looking very hard. Untitled Art puts out some very fine NA sours and if you like the traditional 'hoppy' taste, HopWater and HopTea are both quite tasty. Lapsang Souchong is also a fine choice - try cold brewing a concentrate and mixing it with sparkling water and perhaps a dash of NA bitters for a pleasant tea mocktail.

I've been digging Pellegrino recently with cigars. Never competes and freshens the flavors between puffs.

I generally stick to black coffee, but every now and them will have a Coca Cola. Evenings I prefer a finger or two of bourbon.

For me I'd say rum. Style doesn't really matter, as long as it's aged and not sweetened.
Caveat: like with peat in whiskey, I found that after recoiling from it at first, high-ester Jamaican-style rums have started growing on me, but they can overpower a milder cigar for sure.

A cocktail I find never fails to pair well, but you'll want an assertive full-bodied cigar to stand up to it, is a Planter's Punch. Made with Plantation OFTD to keep the ABV nice and high. Perfect for summer.

For non-alcoholic: coffee and those brewed herbal colas.
