Popular Post RDB Posted March 8, 2021 Popular Post Posted March 8, 2021 My first from a PSP box. Looks absolutely great, but a bit heavy and a tight draw. Couple of passes with the perfect poker opens it up a bit. Textbook Monte flavours here. Unsweetened high-quality hot chocolate, with something of that creamy / grainy texture too. It’s a dark milk chocolate, with a touch of fine clay earth. After an inch or so the cigar kicks in properly. Medium bodied but rich. I never think of Monte as particularly complex, but it’s a hell of a profile. Very consistent down to the last third, when a slightly green peppercorn spice starts to work its way in. Still primarily chocolate though. The burn was a bother. One side went a lot faster, so I had to keep touching up the other. It was also pretty tight all the way, so I had to work it with double puffs - and ended up light headed. Hopefully more time will help the burn and I may have just got an unlucky roll. But the flavour was exemplary. I mean, I can’t imagine better Monte flavour at any price. More La Corona quality here. Score a 1 on the binary scale, hopefully with great things ahead. Just have to hope the construction is ok in the box as a whole. Shall look again in another year. 9
smbauerllc Posted March 8, 2021 Posted March 8, 2021 Nice review. I love the monte no.2 One of my top 5 favorites. I can't recall ever having any burn, draw or construction issues personally. Have always been right on for me Sent from my SM-G930V using Tapatalk
