Had this stick in my box for a little while picked it up from my local B&M store here in Boise. This is a Nic/Honduran Villazon blend that is one of my  favorites.. I gravitate towards Villazon and have always enjoyed them. Doing this in halves due to small format .

The Drink: Diplomatico rum Old Fashioned

Cold Draw: Tobacco only

Construction /Burn: Well constructed wrapper was beautiful and the burn was spot on.

Smoke time: 56 minutes

First Half: cream, sweetness, coffee, leather, and a hint of cinnamon

Second Half: leather and sweetness.. finished with leather and was a little off towards the end.. put it out

Score: 3/5 due to the poor finish....

Used to smoke the bejeezus out of these back in late 90s.  Great bargain, always interesting.  Had a little bite to it.  Thanks for the memory lane ?.

My father in law’s most common selection too. Interesting there’s such a following. May have to dip into his humidor to try

Loved the villazon blends they were closely associated with JR. When I would go visit my brother in Holly Springs outside of Raleigh, I would swing over to the JR Store in Statesville since it was on the way to see my mom on the coast. They had a villazon second that was called "Consuegra" would pick up a pack of toros or double coronas for around 30 bucks.

Drink looks tasty!

@Lrabold89 asked about the rum Drinks ... I have the following (which are just recipes you can find anywhere , Rum is so universal and old you can find anything to mix and it will work out)

So far I have:

1) Cabbage Creeper:

1 part Rum (I like malibu)

2 to 3 parts Pina colada Mix (depending on taste)

Mix with ice and add a splash of Kahlua

2) Dark and Stormy

1 part Dark rum any will do but I like Goslings black seal

2 to 3 parts Ginger Beer (add more according to taste)

lots of ice with a lime wedge

Note if you use Vodka above you've just made a moscow mule

3) Rum old Fashioned

1 part Dark rum (get some thing smooth I like diplomatico)

3 parts Old fashioned mix or a dash of bitters and simple syrup with a splash of Orange either from a real orange or bottled juice

orange peel or orange piece in the drink with some maraschino cherrries

mix in ice and filter in a glass with a large Ice cube..

If it's still too strong I will add some ginger ale or ginger beer to take the edge off

NOTE: this can be made with a good bourbon

4) Rum ala Kevin (my own concoction) I just threw what I thought would taste good together

1 part Rum (any kind I prefer malibu or a light rum)

2 parts Orange juice

2 parts Ginger ale or Ginger beer

Mix well with ice after pouring add a splash of vermouth

Bonus favorite of mine

5)  Peach Whisky and ginger ale / ginger beer

add your preferred ratios . I do

1 part Peach whisky (Bird dog brand)

3 parts Ginger ale or Ginger Beer

3) Rum old Fashioned

I love old fashions, I have always used a good bourbon or rye, Michters is my go-to for old fashioned.  I have never tried with Rum before, so I will be doing this tomorrow for sure!

Let me know what you think .. I'm not a bourbon guy as in to say not a sipper mostly do mixed drinks.. The Rum works for me in that respect as my palate is more to the sweet side and if it's good rum it will work well with the Citrus and Bitters in my opinion... for what its worth..
