Popular Post Fosgate Posted January 17, 2021 Popular Post Posted January 17, 2021 Big herf day part#3. Smoked and aged D4 from 2013, then a 2020 D4 and now on to the Super Partagas. I'm wondering at this point if I have enough sugar in my system or if this one will be the one to turn me green. This is one out of two fresh boxes I received a few days ago. I've never tried these before but sounded like a good idea to buy after another member here pointed them out. I had removed them from their box upon arrival and set them in a tray in the humidor. It was nice to see the squareness smooth out a bit as I'm not a fan of box pressed. Also noticed the darker shade and seemed oilier than the two D4's I just smoked. I punch a hole in it and check the draw. It's tight but a tool opened it up decently. Order up a fresh drink and lets see what she's like. Cutter: Pardo 4 in 1 8mm punch Pairing: Old Fashion (dang she looks good, and the drink isn't half bad looking either) 1st third: What the H E Double hockey sticks is this? I'm picking up cream, wood, spice. A bit earthy and peppery and slightly sweet. I had no idea as I had no idea what to expect. Pleasant surprise from this smoke. Nice tight white ash and slow steady burn. 2nd & 3'rd were consistently the same. Final Thought: I'm looking forward to what these will be like in just a few months after a proper rest. I'm glad I grabbed two boxes instead of one. I'm impressed at what this is like out of the box like this. Despite being my third cigar of the day this one was my biggest surprise. I might have to pickup a few more boxes. 5
jbosma Posted January 17, 2021 Posted January 17, 2021 Was debating whether or not to try a box of these. Sounds like I'll have to. Thanks for the review!
Bijan Posted January 17, 2021 Posted January 17, 2021 I haven't had the best of luck with these recently, but these are some of my favourite cheap and cheerfuls. To me not much progression in the thirds, as in your review, but they smoke well and the flavours are nice.
