Popular Post dominattorney
Crappy week calls for a cracking cigar to regroup and plan for the tasks ahead. My wife's oldest son was in a car wreck on Saturday which left him with a broken hip. Thankfully no soft tissue damage so he will be good as mew in 6 weeks. But until then he can't walk and we have had to help him alot. Perfect timing too as it's right in the middle of crunch time on a bunch of my bigger cases. Enough griping. Construction feels solid and the wrapper is a nice dark, earthy shade. Not as dark as a NC Maduro, but cold aroma is decadent chocolate. And thats what you get from this puppy. Like smoking a chocolate bar. Not a whole lot of nuance in the first third, but dark chocolate and cream in spades are a welcome flavor companion. I'm working on some motions that are due on Thanksgiving. Wonderful deadline, that. Second third is more chocolate. A lingering hint of baking spice is oncoming through from time to time on the retrohale. Getting a deep espresso note in the final third which is a welcome addition. Chocolate on the spine but earth, leather, dark coffee and spice are all there in the finale. These background flavors are intensifying as the cigar continues on. I figured a nice strong cup of chai tea would coax out the spices and mingle well with thr other players. I was not disappointed. As you can tell in the last photo, I did not much care for this cigar at all. First one from an El Pres box. Came with some age on them, lovely first example. I hate how much I love this cigar given the outrageous price point, but at least on this one, I can say that the extra coin does get you something unique. 9
