Punch Punch REG AUG 18 (FTRW)

Saturday night by the fire for a review as per normal. Thought I'd go for a Punch Punch from a box that's been difficult at times due to a large proportion of tent pegs and an overwhelming woodiness, but finally seems to be hitting it's stride. Feels OK and the cold draw is fine, if a little tight - no need for the Perfecdraw on this one.

On lighting the first hit is of tart blackcurrant, pleasantly so. Sharp and fresh tasting. High hopes indeed...

There's a nice thick smoke and a deep core of cedar and earthiness.

Into the second third and the heat had loosened up the draw to near perfection. Still has that nice tart edge to it, almost lemon zest but I'm still reminded of breakfasts of blackcurrants on natural yoghurt with a drizzle of honey.

Going into the last section it's still smoking slowly but well and the burn has been perfect throughout. Solid medium strength, touch of leather here and there coming through. It's been a great example of what a PP can be when they behave themselves and show their potential. They can be inconsistent but when they're this good that tends to get forgotten, at least until you reach for the next one and all the memories of struggling through trying to find the good points come back.

No matter, this one's been a winner and for now that's all that counts.

I’ve had a single a while back and was completely disappointed ( not sure of the year) bought a box of short punch let’s hope it’s better
