Popular Post teamrandr
Ugly wrapper with a nice color. Almost resembles red clay. The aroma at cold is pleasant. Hard to pinpoint but a bit of fruit is there. Just a touch of graham. Definitely sweet. 1/3 Initial draws are a bit tight for my liking. The smoke has a sweetness. Retrohale is smooth. Certainly has a graham cracker taste to it. Light in body it so far is not at all complex. The aroma of the burning cigar is unique and very pleasant. It has a sweet roasted nut aroma. 2/3 Good smoke no edges. Slight roasted nut mingles with the sweet graham. Draws have opened up a bit. Still light bodied. A nice caramel flavor is on the back end. Retrohale is very smooth and highlights the nut flavor. Sweetness is toned down as it progresses. Final 3rd Their has been an increase in body. A slight spice is now present. Touch of wood and the graham still there. Slight tannic flavor that is not welcome. This his probably from the tight draws. The end is overall enjoyable. A bit of esspresso comes into join graham, spice, and wood. I set it down as it gets to nub status. Score: 87 Draws were tight. That is the only real flaw but it definitely effect the flavor. I would love to revisit this cigar down the road.
djrey
Thanks for the review. I think I have the same box code. Disappointing to hear light bodied however, I bought these after seeing many people call them power houses.

Same thoughts from me. I had one of these on Sunday. It’s so young. It gave me tons of peanut. But kind of fell apart halfway through the second third. I like the medium body. I think will be interesting with a few years though. A baby still. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
frenchkiwi
Thanks for posting, the last box i had of JL no1s some years ago definitely had graham cracker/vanilla sugariness for the first 18 months of its life, big clouds of white smoke, just beautiful. Possibly had nicer wrappers though. After that it lost the sweetness altogether and turned to cedar, more complex but pretty typical as cubans go and less satisfying. So ymmv but that's my tip, maybe leave for 2-3 months and see if it softens the 2nd half, but beware that rare sweetness may soon depart forever... enjoy!
