Popular Post cigaraholic Posted September 26, 2020 Popular Post Posted September 26, 2020 This is the second cigar I’ve smoked out of this beautifully rolled box, every cigar is well over the published weight. This one is 11.2g. I’ve gone thru a few boxes and these have the lightest shade wrappers I can remember, not my favorite shade for RA. Opening flavors are nuts and buttery toasted tobacco. Turns into a beautiful almond cream with toasted tobacco. I’ve got the nuts just waiting for the fruitcake. 20 minutes in I get cake, but it’s spongecake with citrus and a rich raisin finish. Blindfolded I’d think I was smoking a Hoyo or Cohiba, but who cares what the band says this is a delicious cigar. I’m smoking lemon almond spongecake with a raisin finish thinking this would be perfect with a nice glass of Sauternes. But I haven’t started drinking Sauternes in the morning....yet....and all I have chilled is a bottle of bubbles, so bubbles it is. It’s been a little under medium body thru halfway. As the body moves up to medium the spongecake becomes a rich cookie dough, like almond biscotti. Into the last third I taste walnut skins then it turns into peanut brittle, this is a lip licker. Very end it backs down to almond biscotti, 80 minutes of dessert. These will be my Sauternes cigars until the box is empty. 15 1
Puros Y Vino Posted September 27, 2020 Posted September 27, 2020 Love these. Nice write up. When these were fresh they were monsters. Delicious but powerful. With every year they get more refined and complex. IMO these are the LESF of the Asia Pacific RE's. 1
