Popular Post cigaraholic Posted September 13, 2020 Popular Post Posted September 13, 2020 I love pyramid’s, for the first 30 years of my cigar smoking life I smoked more Monte 2’s than any other cigar. But for the last 20 years I can’t think of another cigar that has been so consistently outstanding. I remember a Unicos that tasted like the best cup of french press coffee I’ve ever had, and with my memory that’s really saying something. Rob said he’s never had a bad one and neither have I. This is a beautiful looking cigar, I love the wrapper shade and it’s decently filled at 13.7g. First puff is bitter sweet chocolate, then caramel, deep toasted tobacco, baking spices, raisins and finally a little coffee. Not a bad first inch, the kind of cigar you say just stay where you are, don’t change. I don’t think this cigar could get any better but I get campfire toasted marshmallow to cream out this chocolate delight. The only thing that could make this cigar better is a beverage, so halfway thru I get up and open some Port. Now it tastes like I’m smoking a great Ramon Allones with a beautiful chocolate finish. A great cigar for my fading memory bank? 7
RDB Posted September 14, 2020 Posted September 14, 2020 Great review, and even better pairing. That’s a serious bottle of Port right there... I’d be tempted to finish the lot and write off the next day.
cigaraholic Posted September 14, 2020 Author Posted September 14, 2020 I remember putting a serious dent in a bottle of 63 Taylor when I was much younger...lesson learned ?
