Popular Post teamrandr Posted September 5, 2020 Popular Post Posted September 5, 2020 A rare bird. The wrapper has the telltale aged tobacco aroma. I pick up some beautiful cinnamon and tobacco. A slight woody smell that quite frankly is wonderful. It sports a rather homely wrapper with a few green water spots. The cigar construction is spot on. Nicely filled. 1/3 . The opening draws are woody. Very light body so far. A nice subtle cinnamon flavor compliments this light bodied smoke. Super light in body so far. Not flavorless though. I like this format quite a bit. The Londsdale is my kind of smoke. 2/3 . So far this cigar hasn't shown me much. I like it, however it is not at all complex so far. Light cinnamon with woody tobacco. Retrohale is smooth as can be. Final 3rd . Flavor gets a bit of depth. There is a nice baked scone flavor coming. Like a cinnamon scone. This is mixing nice with the woody flavor. Underneath it all is a slight caramel note. A touch of sourdough bread here and there.. Not overly complex but absolutely enjoyable on a beautiful September day in Michigan. Zero complaints the smoke has been super smooth and retrohale likewise. Score: 90 An aged gem. Probably a bit past its prime but still very enjoyable. 7
PigFish Posted September 5, 2020 Posted September 5, 2020 Near 20 years ago this was a favorite cigar. Later the fear of millennial cigars, writer bias and thin cigars meant you could buy these at a steep discount. Those were the days for this cigar lover. I smoked many a box of these. They became my favorite cigar of the time. Thanks for the review. Perhaps I will find one to smoke. Piggy 1
