Popular Post El Presidente Posted February 27 Author Popular Post Posted February 27 Kelly Heck (American, XXI). Mixed Media painting (acrylic paint + decorative ornaments), n.d. Artist signature "KH" lower right. Delightfully bold and fun, this impressively large mixed media painting by contemporary artist Kelly Heck is sure to make an impression. The composition presents a lively street scene featuring colorful characters. At the center a dapper couple promenades before a band of busking musicians. The gent dons a striped suit, a royal blue bow tie and pocket square, platform shoes, and a derby cap (with a well endowed hen hovering above) - smokes a cigar, peers through his monocle, and holds a ROTA briefcase in one hand and a white key fob to their elegant red car in the other. 4 1

Incredible. I was glad to see this as I remember seeing the oldest WW2 vet on the news in the past in his old interview mentioning "having sometimes 12 cigars a day and sometimes more".

This work exemplifies Neukomm's refined graphic sensibility and stands as a testament to the golden age of European advertising art. Kummerly & Frey, Berne 5

Popular Post El Presidente Posted Thursday at 06:15 PM Author Popular Post Posted Thursday at 06:15 PM 93 51.375 h x 36.875 w in (130 x 94 cm) There is no consensus as to what Steinlen's highly regarded Mothu et Doria is actually trying to portray. A singing duo in Aristide Bruant's social-realist mode? A stage drama? Is it a moment of socioeconomic conflict or comity? All we really know is this: a gentleman, likely returning from the Opera, proffers a cigar so that a raffish gentleman with sunken cheeks can light his own cigarette in the foggy gaslight of a Parisian night. Its ambiguity alone defines it as a superb work of art. Pajol, Paris 5
my happy place Posted Thursday at 07:33 PM Posted Thursday at 07:33 PM I saw this Michael Godard in a Waikiki art gallery. My wife wanted to add some paintings to our home, but unfortunately did not approve this purchase. 4
