Popular Post Chucko8 Posted August 4, 2020 Popular Post Posted August 4, 2020 After being spurred on from @CampDelta369 jumped into this quick review today on another coffee break favourite. Picked up a PSP box of these from 24:24 last year and they have been all studs thus far. Will the trend continue?? The wrapper has nice oily sheen to it and smells sweet and cedar like. I punch a hole in and away we go. The first third contains maple syrup sweetness with milky coffee which then melds into a nutty profile combined with that pancake feel. Burn is very crisp and a lovely white ash is collecting as the cigar burns down. Second third brings a slight building in strength with the syrup sweetness dialing back, the coffee increases and feels less milky. Toasty tobacco with a woodiness also present. Post each sip on the black coffee the sweetness hits flare back up I note along with the nutty nuances. Burn continues with a nice sharp line and the smoke content is extremely pleasing. Final third and the sweetness is back in there but more like a dark molasses. The strength has hit it’s high and sits a touch over medium. Due to a little bit of time pressure I’m smoking a bit fast and note a pepper coming through. Slow it back down and all is good. Coffee pairs so well with these and brings out a deep earthy wood feel. My answer to the question will the trend continue, is Yes! All studs and no duds thus far from this box. Only 1/4 of a box left now, so I fear that they won't make the 3 year mark of DIC 2020. Rate this one a 92. 12
GVan Posted August 4, 2020 Posted August 4, 2020 Nice review and thanks - I agree with you! I have the same box but still working through a LGR NOV-17 box first. Glad to know that when I finally get to the DEC-17 box, it will be great as well! These were so good that I went back and bought 4 more boxes - all LGR JUN-18. Have only smoked one of those ROTT but it was a cracker as well. 1
djrey Posted August 4, 2020 Posted August 4, 2020 Great to hear. I have the same box code that I got in a few months ago. Just waiting for it to hit 90 days and I will jump in. 1
