Popular Post Sir Diggamus Posted July 28, 2020 Popular Post Posted July 28, 2020 This is a cigar I got in a trade quite a while ago and has been one of those “I’ll smoke it on a special day” cigars. Since COVID-19 hit I have burned through quite a few of those. Construction is good and after a few days of dry boxing the cigar has a sweet barnyard aroma. Immediately after I light the cigar it tells it’s age with a rustic and refined note of an aged habano. A rich cream and light cinnamon note are the first flavors detected. Next is an orange peel note. I don’t get a lot of citrus zest or citrus peel notes in cigars but this one is dead on, like someone was peeling an orange on the other side of the room. At the beginning of the 2/3 I get a sweet spice note, I know some detect paprika with Dips but this is more sweet and less spice but paprika is close. The citrus notes are still there but now instead of being bright it’s a richer, sweeter note, orange scone maybe. The finish is a creamy spice. The cigar is burning perfectly, I am glad I let it sit out a few days. At the beginning of the last third the spice profile picks up with an earthiness in the mix. Now there is the paprika and red bell pepper I hear about with these cigars. The citrus note is there but not nearly as noticeable. Some of the cinnamon notes come back in the retrohale. I was hoping to get this one ready in time to get it in for the contest and maybe I still will, but I am glad the competition gave me a reason to enjoy this wonderful cigar. The transition on this cigar was fabulous. Bright and sweet in the beginning and spicy sweet at the end. Good stuff. 96 Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk 11
NicPac Posted July 29, 2020 Posted July 29, 2020 Thanks for sharing your review! I so wish they still made these. What I would give for a box. 1
Sir Diggamus Posted July 30, 2020 Author Posted July 30, 2020 Thanks for sharing your review! I so wish they still made these. What I would give for a box. Me too. It’s kind of amazing to think about how many different marcas had a cigar of this size between ‘95-‘05 and now it is down to just a few. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Pag Posted July 30, 2020 Posted July 30, 2020 Always loved this Brand. The Band has always appealed to my eyes. Many years ago in the 90s Manuel Quesada made a Dominican version with the same band. Grassy, woody and sweet if I remember correctly. I wish there was more stock around of this Brand. I think the end is close for this once popular Marca . Anyways excellent review seemed like one helluva stick. The Orange creamsickle of Cuba's past will always echo silently in the space between my ears. Sent from my Pixel 3a using Tapatalk 1
SCgarman Posted July 30, 2020 Posted July 30, 2020 Smoked a Dip #3 which was gifted to me a few years ago. Very unique flavor profile, tasted notes of oriental spices. Fantastic cigar.
