Popular Post cfc1016 Posted July 21, 2020 Popular Post Posted July 21, 2020 Slightly different motif from the original piece. This one is built to take a blow from a cleaver. Can't wait to start making ashtrays and humidors. How's FOH feel about the idea of a "cigar table"? Would be a slab table top with a natural cavity/hole in it. Cigar rests molded around the edges of the hole, with space beneath for a high-volume ash/butt receptacle. Just send your ashes down the chute. No tray ON the table. The table IS the tray. I've got a few pieces of stock that have inspired me to build this concept. Would love any conceptual feedback 6
kalibratecuba Posted July 21, 2020 Posted July 21, 2020 I like the idea of a really big ashtray with rest. Would you ever dispose of the butts? It could get pretty foul smelling.Sent from my GM1917 using Tapatalk 1

The rest of the table would function as a normal table top. You would place a receptacle (small metal waste paper bin, for example) beneath the table, so any ash/butts discarded through the hole, could be easily disposed of by simply dumping the receptacle. The table itself would never actually contain the ashes/butts. Just a table top (live edge end-grain-topped trunk slice) that happens to have cigar rests and a pass through integrated with the natural features of the piece. 1
nKostyan Posted July 21, 2020 Posted July 21, 2020 I see this concept in metal. Round table on forged legs with monograms in the form of a glass for a Margarita cocktail. On top of the grill grate-table top. You can put accessories, put glasses and a bottle. Ash and cigar nubs should be thrown through the grate, from the bottom to the container for garbage. 1

Just made from live edge wood and Minguren-styled wooden base, instead of metal!
