dominattorney
well, doesn't this look familiar? My stepdaughter made me another double mai tai to pair with the partagas presidente. Sadly it was not as winning a combo as the pl picadore from Friday night. Still, no cigar or cocktail ever truly goes to waste does it? I just got a new box of these so I am pumping out the last 7 from my 2016 box. They've been incredibly consistent with perfect construction and draws. I was reading the usual communist drivel from Slavoj (ma boi) Zizek out on the deck in what promised to be a pleasant evening of dissident retroflection. After the chapter about how we are all capitalist swine, unworthy and incapable of redemption, my wife came out and told me I was acting like a nebbish dork and I should be more social, tossing my book on the kitchen table and bringing my stepdaughters boyfriend and herself out onto the deck, presumably to convince me that the bourgeois way of life was worth fighting for. The mai tai got the better of me, so I bought her capitalist pig dog lies and agreed to purchase a time share with her in Panama. Meanwhile, the cigar faithfully delivered flavors reminiscent of my favorite beers. Barnyard, forest floor, and a complex mustiness that I always hear referred to as "brett expression." I nubbed it, and gave it a 9 of 10. I have about 4 or 5 left and can't wait to see how they develop. Good evening, comrades. But seriously. I recommend the Zizek book to anyone not fully satisfied with mainstream explanations about politics these last 5 or so years. Interesting stuff, and an entertaining read no matter your beliefs.
Bill Hayes
I love the Presidente profile too. It reminds me of some of the Partagas I enjoyed in the past - I think it is old school. Very hard to describe the flavour but I think you've nailed it. I haven't encountered it in D4 or Lusi recently but about 4 years ago I had a Short that did. Not until I tried the Presidente have I been able to fall back in love with Partagas and my favourite flavour profile. Cheers.
