Sock style filters are very Latino.  Got a hoot out of that.  Grinding while the beans are still smoking is novel.

I always thought Cuban coffee was made with a moka pot.  But I think that's a Miami thing.

So fascinating how different people enjoy their coffee. As someone who roasts his own as a hobby, just about every part of the process starting with roasting would be considered absolute sacrilege. Haa haa. They do color gradings for roast color. He roasted it to "call the fire department" level. Then many people swear by allowing the coffee to de-gas (this is why all your bags of premium coffee have one-way valves in them - lets the air escape). Most roasters won't try to drink the coffee for at least 48hrs after roasting, in some cases a week, as the flavors start to come out a lot more. So grinding while they are still smoldering is a wild thought. Then in brewing, the proportion of coffee to water? That stuff would clean an engine block.

But much like cigars...it's not how the other guy likes em, it's how you like em that matters most. Neat video.
