Popular Post Chibearsv Posted April 11, 2020 Popular Post Posted April 11, 2020 Well...instead of going for any of the cigars that I know are great, I decided that the Big Guns meant to pull one out that I haven't tried but hold in high regard for a future smoke. I know @El Presidente said to put these away for 5 but I've been so curious to try them that this gives me a good excuse. Churchills in general are my favorites, and since there aren't a lot of them out there, that makes this particular cigar a bit of a unicorn for me. It's a beautiful cigar; lovely wrapper and appears to be constructed well. Wrapper has a bit of a musty cedar smell to it and the foot has a slight aroma of stewed prune. Punched it and the draw is perfect with slight resistance. 1st third - Very different from anything else I've smoked. It's very musty forest tasting; funky mushroom maybe and old leaves and then a finish that's very green herb, not sweet, almost cilantro. I wish my palate was better so I could put my finger on it. No sweetness or pepper at all. I'm intrigued.... 2nd third - The musty forest seems to be the baseline here as it continues through this third. The green herbal part is fading and a tiny bit of sweetness and a tiny bit of pepper is coming in now. The cigar burn twists and turns a little but that kind of adds to the story on this one. Final - We are still walking around in an old forest but now honey sweetness and pepper are beginning to build and that initial herbal flavor is either very muted or gone. Summation - I guess unicorn is an apt description. This cigar was definitely a couple hours in the forest doing a little exploring. Very different in my limited experience and overall a really pleasant cigar. I'm going to follow the "put 'em away" recommendation on these to see how the forest evolves over time. I'm glad I bought 2 boxes since I'll be pulling one annually from this box to see where this journey goes. I'm looking forward to it. Solid A 22

I just read @SenorPerfecto 's review on an aged Tainos and I think we have something really great to look forward to. 1
Lant63 Posted April 12, 2020 Posted April 12, 2020 Definitely sounds like something to age. Usually young ERDM and I do not get along, However aged renditions are fabulous.Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk 1
