Punch 48 - LGR JUL 18 (PPPRW)

Got this box as a generous prize from our host here about a year ago (thank you FOH!). Never had one before, and decided today was the day. 
 

Really a nice wrapper and construction, a dusky almost NC cold aroma. Draw was perfect. 

First puffs were straight peanut, just like Pres said it would be. Sometimes I wonder how predisposed I am to get certain flavors after reading reviews and such, but man this was one was pretty hard to miss! The first third had me thinking about what other flavors I could find, and all I could think of was just generic mixed nuts, but not an Upmann kind of nutty, something very different.

Second third was again just a blast of peanuts. Now even clearer, dry roasted peanuts, with the shells and the thin paper rind, lingering all over my mouth on the finish. At times I got a random light mineral flavor, almost like a Cohiba maduro, but it was fleeting. Some slight tanin, but not offensive. 
 

Final third saw the peanut almost completely disappear, and it just turned into nice Cuban tobacco. 

this was definitely a one-trick pony, but still a thoroughly enjoyable cigar. Great burn and draw.  Never bitter or harsh. Smooth retro. 
 

On my scale of crap, decent, good, very good, excellent, I’m giving it a Good+. Looking forward to sampling more from the box.
