Popular Post cigarzfan Posted January 28, 2020 Popular Post Posted January 28, 2020 Although it may be summer Down Under, it is winter up under. Even in Florida. So a short smoke it is. I recently started a thread asking whether Cohiba Siglos or Clasicas were smoking better young. With a huge sample size of four cigars (a Siglo 2, a Siglo 4, a CoRo, and an Esplendido), my vote is for Siglos. Easy to clip. Cap came loose right away. Not sure if that was due to a poorly glued cap or an bad cut. In any event, toasted foot and away we go. First 1/2: Nice color on wrapper. Draw was just right. Not too snug as some other cubans have been recently. Classic Cohiba flavor profile. Dry hay, honey, toasted almonds. Second 1/2. I admitted smoke 'em kind of hot. I was throwing tennis balls with a pit bull and a lab, so there wasn't much kick back and relax time. Plus, it was humid as all get out. Hence the wonky burn. Continued with mild-medium body. Yellow grass. Almond milk. Enjoying this young cigar way more than the baby CoRo and Esplendido. At this point, started thinking I'd rate it a 91 or so. I usually stop smoking at the band. But the band on this thing is huge, so I take it off. As you know, Cohiba bands are Fuente-like in strength. I don't know how anyone gets them off without tearing the band to shreds. Cigar moves into medium body. Excellent variety and complexity. Mainly almonds, honey, and toasted bread. I can tell that these should shape up into something really nice in the upcoming years. This is nubbing it for me. I don't usually go this far unless I'm really digging the cigar. I obviously enjoyed this one and upped review to 92+, obviously meaning 92 right now and hoping for more in the future for the rest of the box. 6
bbguardsp Posted January 29, 2020 Posted January 29, 2020 Had a CoRo the other day I picked up some almond milk. Funny as I only recently started drinking it a couple months ago. Always fun for new flavors to emerge in cigars you couldn't pin down before.
