Popular Post Benson Posted January 26, 2020 Popular Post Posted January 26, 2020 Similar to the other 2018 CoRo reviews I’ve read this weekend, I had a feeling this stick wasn’t quite ready even before I went at it. Still, it had been about 6 months since I had tested the first out of this box and it wouldn’t hurt to check in. Pre light I just got leather and warm tobacco. 1st third: really cedar dominant, with bits of pepper and spice. The draw is snug for a robusto, and smoke output is minimal. About 15 minutes in I noticed some tar buildup at the cap so I cut a bit more off the top; this noticeably opened up the draw and brought in the 2nd third flavors. 2nd third: shifts to much bigger leather notes, with cedar still coming in here and there among the pepper and spice but nothing like the first third. Getting a bit of twang as well, but nothing like Cohiba profile like I’m used to, this was feeling a lot more like Upmann to me. last third: not too much change, just a deepening of the full leather/tobacco flavor. Once past the band I was starting to get some bitter notes so I let it go out. Rating: 83 My first CoRo was out of a sampler and must have had some age on it because it smoked amazingly and I feel like I’ve been chasing that dragon ever since. I bough this box well over a year ago and I’m itching for these to get to their prime, but they obviously are not there yet. Cheers gents thanks for reading. 6
rcarlson Posted January 26, 2020 Posted January 26, 2020 Well, it's a good-looker. Surely time will improve. Good luck on the drawing.
ohbob976 Posted January 26, 2020 Posted January 26, 2020 That’s how I feel about my Coro experience. First one was incredible from sampler. Trying to find that ever since. So far unsuccessfully

RDB Posted January 26, 2020 Posted January 26, 2020 It's the theme of the CRW so far... generally not that great when young!
