Popular Post Riverstyx Posted January 26, 2020 Popular Post Posted January 26, 2020 I was in the mood for something a little fuller, but couldn't pass up a Cohiba for CRW. It was also good to see how these are coming along. The wrapper had a few scuffs on them, but that could have been due to me handling it. It didn't impact the smoking experience. The cigar opened up nicely, but it didn't go too far. The Espy had the classic Cohiba flavor that I sometimes view as tasting a bit like gasoline, but in a good way. As the cigar went along it was definitely medium-bodied. The retrohale was smooth, but there wasn't a whole lot of complexity to it. I've had a few from this box that were absolutely stunning, but the recent few I've had have been muted. Pleasant, but muted. I'm hoping time will allow these to open back up again - anyone have experience with this? I'll probably let the rest sit. I'd give this cigar a 91 rating. Very good, but not the greatness that Espys can be. After finishing, I reached for a Parti Presidente to get a fuller bodied smoke. It did the trick, and all-in-all i was satisfied. 6
Chibearsv Posted January 27, 2020 Posted January 27, 2020 I really enjoy the young Espledndidos; especially the ones with the wrappers that are more pale. The latest box I bought has much darker wrappers and although they're very good now, I think they can improve with age - if they make it that long.
