Quick question for US travelers, I'm sure somebody here must have experience.

Somebody I know, US citizen, not resident in the US wants to travel legally to Cuba

He's looking for info for US travelers (US passport holders/citizens) who want to travel to Cuba from outside the US.

I know the white OFAC form with the 12 license-options for Cuba travel is not available at non-US airports.

Has any US citizen here done this before?

Or, to put it another way, is there a way to do it legally (that is, meeting OFAC requirements for US citizens)?

There is an affidavit for you to fill out for Cuba travel.

Here's an example.

As long as they have this (and declare one of the 11 general licenses aside from People to People) they're fine.

People to people needs to be through an organized tour group again. That and the cruise bans are really the only changes in policy from the Obama era.

He can also link up with one of those medical charity groups that make regular trips to Cuba to dispense medicine and medical supplies, etc. They make regular necessary charity visits to Cuba and don't mind allowing some Americans to tag along as long as they agree that they're on a Humanitarian Mission there.

Thank you very much for that link Mike. I'll pass it on to him, tell him to tick number 8 and have it with him. If he is flying from outside the US, it probably won't matter, but no harm having it. He will meet the criteria for "Support for the Cuban People", as far as that is generally understood.

Thanks again, that's a very handy link.

He'll want to hold on to it for 5 years per the record-keeping requirements.

Thanks Mike. I have told him that he should keep it. Thank you.

Are you coming to Havana in February?

I was toying with the thought. Odds are low though at this point.

Well it would be good to see you and Mrs. Mike if you can make it. Nicola always asks for you both.

If Nicola will be there, Kelly would jump at it.

Otherwise I'd most likely be solo if I make it..
