Popular Post El Presidente Posted December 8, 2019 Popular Post Posted December 8, 2019 I love passionistas and met Emmanuel Lasur at the Chelsea Arts Club for a fantastic cigar function put together by great mate and loveable rogue, John De Costa. I have no idea about pricing but I suspect that the old maxim of "If you have to ask the price, you can't afford it" applies to at least the upper echelons of the collection If you are indeed interested, shoot him an email which will find at the bottom of this post. Emmanuel runs international sales at Bosquet Paris. Bosquet Paris has been around in business for more than 5 years initially producing Cigar cases in leather (calf & exotic leather) and occasionally producing humidors. The company is centred around Damien Mourat Delort who is a Frenchman living in London for over ten years. Damien is a 'Compagnon du Cuir' a special leather craftsmanship distinction in France. To become a 'Compagnon' there is a strict apprentice process over few years as Compagnons to be have to work for several prestigious craftsmen/houses for short periods over a few years in France so they learn a full blend of skills from masters. After his apprenticeship, Damien has worked for prestigious houses such as Louis Vuitton and now run the Bosquet workshop between France and London. Damien and the Bosquet craft team are surrounded by a Japanese Designer named Akio Shindate who has collected numerous awards in Japan. Last year, the focus for Bosquet has been mainly producing a exceptional range of cigar humidors. We try to be different and produce pieces using the best and rarest craft skills. Each humidor is unique and made entirely by hand from the design studio where design and specification are agreed on, then handed over to the humidor maker and other suppliers then the leather/lacquer coating. The collection: 3 lines being produced in 3 sizes 100, 125 and 200 cigars boxes. 1- Desktop Humidors wrapped up in leather Calf leather hand wrapped and hand dyed to produce a patine effect (i.e Berluti patine style) Exotic leather (crocodile, stingray, ostrich mainly) Old Leather. Stingray 2- Japanese lacquer Urushi These humidors are finished in Japan with Urushi lacquer by one of the very last remaining and famous Japanese Urushi Masters coming from the town of Wajima. Wajima is considered the center of excellence for urushi lacquer masters exercising this traditional technique. Urushi lacquer is the pinnacle of any lacquer. Initially it is a toxic vegetal substance coming out of a tree subsequently detoxified following ancient methods and mixed up to become a lacquer. The lacquer is then warmed up and liquefied to be applied. It takes up to 150 coatings for each humidor and it takes 7-8 months just for the lacquer as some drying times have to be respected. Urushi lacquer is not just extremely hard to master and apply, but provides unique depth of colour and capture the light in an unique way. Urushi provide depth in colour and a specially capture the light to make those boxes truly one of a kind. 1 year to make in Wajima Japan by a famous Urushi master. 150 coating of usrushi lacquer + real gold inlay Unique piece, signed (engraved underneath by the urushi master) and comes with certificate Comes with perspex tray and wood tray + Boded Humidification system and Xikar Hygro Bosquet Urushi Masters also design by hand all the collection (Traditional Japanese design or reproduction of mid 19th century Japanese print coming from the Bosquet private collection) In addition, Bosquet does produced Antique furniture refurbished to Humidors and a new line of 10 cigar thin leather box (calf & patine) is also being produced for travelling.
