Could be interesting....  Not at all a Matt Damon fan.   Love the story, but I know it pretty well already.  My best mate has worked on many of the original cars including the roadster prototype chasis #109(he builds engines and tunes), and the fellows he knows were there for the whole unfolding of that story beginning in the early 60s.  Very cool to hear stories of the program, read the hard to find books and get first hand expoure from some of the fellows that were there.

Pretty big fan of both actors. Yes, even Matt Damon (insert Team America clip ?) Not clued in to the backstory too much yet, but, when done well, motorsport movies/docos are top shelf entertainment. Senna still one of my all-time favourites (the man and the doco). Will do some backstory research on this one before viewing.

If you can find this you’ll get some serious history and education on the subject.   It’s the Min Ron NEE  equivalent, and it’ll set you back as much.

Seriously hoping Hollywood doesn’t ruin the story whilst trying to make it interesting for the big screen....

Thanks! I'll definitely investigate.

And, yeah, the Hollywood element is always a worry. Hoping they do it justice.

Looking forward to it as well. Could be my first trip to the movies in years (last movie was The Big Short...I work in finance). Don’t consider myself a car expert (like cigars I know enough to know how little I know), have owned Ferraris over the years but my holy grail ever since I was a little kid is the Shelby 427. I am in the process of having a replica built by Superformance, which is the only authorized builder of replica Shelbys.

I also am a big Matt Damon fan. The Bourne movies are some of my favorite movies...and I don’t watch a lot of movies.

The Big Short is a great flick. Bale, Gosling, and Carell were brilliant. Loved the direction in that, too. Hope this delivers in a similar fashion.

I'm the same when it comes to cars. No expert at all. I don't even own a car. It's a fringe interest but I can get quite enthusiastic about it. I think there's a little bit of motorcar/sport DNA in all us Aussies. It's deep laid. Call it the Bathurst/Mad Max gene. Maybe it doesn't always activate but everyone grows up with some knowledge of the Ford v Holden rivalry in this country. And I think we share that car culture with the US in a unique way -- massive countries, lengthy road trips abound, always a mate or two who are mad car fanatics... Great stuff!

Looking forward to seeing reviews of this flick from those who take it on at the cinema.

I should have mentioned Christian Bale. He went from playing Dick Cheney to Ken Miles in this, lost like 70 lbs. I believe. Guy is a stud for sure and an amazing actor. I have hope on this one.

Went and watched this on the weekend. Thoroughly entertaining! From what I can tell, reasonably true to the actual events, though a doco I've watched pointed out a few variances... still, it didn't feel at all like a full Hollywood wipeout, so that was pleasing.

Good mix of the motorsport action and the drama, backstory. In sum, great cinema. More than worth the price of entry. Which is a rare thing to be able to utter, these days.

There is also a great documentary on Netflix called "The 24 Hour War "  which is the actual story with film footage and some of the drivers and mechanics, and is very informative.

I saw parts of the Ford VS Ferrari film today, and it follows the documentary very closely in the segment I saw.

worth a good look.............
