Popular Post Chucko8 Posted October 22, 2019 Popular Post Posted October 22, 2019 Decided to partake in a PLMC from a 2018 box which I picked up from 24:24 a few months back. The box which I have from 2017 has been outstanding and have had a number of conversations and sang the praises of this box with @JohnS as he has found the same. Time to see if the 18 box can match my 17 expectations. Just a hint, I was not disappointed. I would definitely claim these sticks to be a classic in my rotation and feel that it shares similarities to my Pale blue 1964 EH Special Station Wagon. Like the MC has a bit of extra length to fit in a little more pleasure, such as accommodating surfboards in the back. The nod from other motorists whilst out driving and the cigar smokers alike. The voicing of people admiring and yelling out 'Nice one mate, old school!' Straight out of the gates caramel, honey and toast flavours and just like the straight 6 cylinder 179 engine in the EH. No rocket science required on these simple things and when they’re on they are On! In the case of this stick it was on! Have a little bit of an uneven burn and that is but a very minor quibble. Something akin to the crash gear box that the EH runs. It’s got the column shift gear stick of the ever reliable 3 on the tree system. Have to grind it a touch coming out of 2nd and into 1st at times, again slight quibble and all part of the experience. The thinner gear stick on the column has a similar more dainty feel to lit like the Montecarlo. Into the 2nd 3rd of the stick and some more woody notes join into the flavour party with a slight twang also. Just like when I’m out cruising in the EH it slow and steady as with smoking these cigars, your reward will be immense. You just need to relax and not need to be rushing anywhere in a hurry. The braking time in this car isn’t that great, heavy body and 4 drum brakes. No need to be pushing this one to performance limits. Onto the final 3rd and I can tell that it will be down to the nub and burning my fingers. I now have milk coffee coming through in the flavour profile as well, burn has corrected itself and is nice and even. This is just right and I’m reveling in the occasion. Feels just like I have one hand on the wheel the other arm up and resting across the top of the bench seat system that the EH has both in the front and back seats. Cruising and just taking it all in. Well 75 minutes of heaven and reminiscing of being back behind of a beloved car that I had to leave behind in Australia. Good value car and great value stick! Caramel in spades, a touch woodier than my 17 box, score it 91. Thoroughly enjoyed this review as it has bought back many fond memories and recollections of great times. Kids need to learn how to drive early in Oz. Lol. A rebuild of the engine and reporting of the head to enable the use of unleaded petrol. 17
