Hard to fault Colorado such as these

But I have to say, I wonder about the rather rough looking wrappers recently seen on Espies and Swinnies. Seems they are still not fully back on track wrapper-wise (?). Those have always been cigars sporting super smooth wrappers. Not necessarily oily, but even and smooth as silk.

Good day in the warehouse with a pair of standouts at the opposite ends of the spectrum.

Is it a Habanos Specialist Exclusive or regular Línea Maduro?

@El Presidente, you and Ken didn’t seem sold on the Maduro 1 a few years ago when you did a review on it.  Do you still feel the same about it now?  Has a little age on them changed your mind for the better?  Are fresh ones better now than a few years past?

I feel that way about Kate Upton.

She’s an Auburn fan. Has a little Tiger tattoo right below her navel. Or so I hear.

Gotta give Auburn respect for a heck of a season so far despite having Malzahn at the helm.

Regular.

That was the right move.

You either like the profile or you don't.

They have grown on me over the years as a change of pace cigar. I find the "in your face" chocolate notes take it out of regular rotation and more special/specific occasion.

One to review again with ken.

Wrapper quality is indeed all over the place on both.

This UAO batch was "on point" in terms of smooth wrapper delivery.

They really shouldn't be having any problems with wrapper quality for their premiums. They have plenty to choose from

We can't all be perfect, even Kate Upton.

Thanks for the feedback, Rob!

I'd smoke the sh*t out of that box...

Haha, I'd certainly do the same! But you miss my point. This is not necessarily a question of smoking 'good' or 'bad'. This was a consideration of wrapper qualities, i.e. a certain physical property. A question directed towards those in the know.

Perhaps my observation isn't even correct and not representative. But what I have seen recently, also 'in life', lets me suspect that wrappers on those vitolas have systematically changed somehow over recent years, going from silky-smooth to a more oily, rich, more 'hearty' quality, if you will.
