What made your Punch Punches unsmokeable? I've got a box from REG Oct 18 and while they're tightly packed, they're absolutely delicious!

Completely plugged. I mean completely.  I amount of times with the perfecdraw helps.

I am resting now. Maybe they will come around....sounds like yours are good so here’s to hoping

Same for me. After being impatient with the first couple, I let them sit a little longer, 3 day dryboxed, and they were one of a handful of great Cuban experiences. Great vitola too.

Maybe a good idea to try one before you lay the box down. Mine look ok wrapper wise but the innards good Lord !

Got several go-to studs going, but a box of LMB Jun 17 Partagas E2’s stands out.

My dud has to be a SGA Mar 17 box of ERdM Choix Supreme. Smoked a handful so far, they’ve all got an off putting “stink bug” taste to them, quite contrary to the great tastes I read about in reviews. I’ve buried the box in my humidor with high hopes I’ll rediscover them in 5 years and they’ll be great.

I have the same box of ERdM. Ugh. Haven’t had one yet but doesn’t look promising .

Smoking one right now, absolutely will not stay lit, and that’s after a week of dry boxing in 58% humidity. I’d say 50% of the montes I’ve smoked in this year I’ve had the same problem. They look great, though

Damn. I'm sorry to hear that. Have you tried a 1 or 2 day dry box ahead of smoking?

I tried ROTT. I tried 2 day dry box. I tried week dry box and two week dry box. Then just out of humi set at about 64. None worked. You can just feel the knots all over them.
Some time down should help. Lots of good things said about these boxes. Here is to hoping

Stud: Bolivar PC MSU DIC 17. Every one is great, best bang for buck ever.

Dud: Monte Media Corona RAU JUL 16. Just not much flavour interest.

Both HQ boxes, but the Bolivar do look and smell amazing.

The only version of Punch that I own is Punch Punch and tried 2 for the first time this week.  2018 box that is definitely a stud.

What is your box code on those?

Posted

I hate to admit that I don't know the code because it was one of those weird boxes wrapped in paper with no stamp on the box itself.  I recall 2018 but figured I would smoke them and did not really care AND it was a time when I was still acting shy and just reading FOH without much to say.  The LGC Md#4 was wrapped the same and the cigars are in a lacquered box without date markings.  I have others like this; Party 898 comes to mind.  I will be more on the ball in the future or I need to stfu.
