CampDelta369 Posted September 8, 2019 Posted September 8, 2019 RYJ Churchill ESL ABR 19 (RYJCHRW) Excellent construction and wrapper. I picked the lightest wrapper in this box and it is PSP beautiful with some fine tooth. Draw is firm and very good for this length vitola. Pairing Illy Decaf Roast 1/3: Starts off mild-medium. Nice creaminess on smoke with a bit of nuttiness and roasted tobacco notes. Baking spices with other deliciousness of leather and cocoa. Firm ash 2/3: continues on to the half with predominantly nuts, leather, baking spices, with some cocoa and floral notes on the edges. It is a great blend of flavors. 3/3: intensity picks up a bit and into the first band its still drawing great with occasional touch ups. I only get a bit of young edges into end of last third at medium. Overall this is best RYJ Churchill I’ve had in many years. I can see only upside on getting age on these young ones but a solid 92+ right now. There were 2 sticks in the box with slightly paler wrappers lacking the rosado that is gleaming on its mates. This was the one of those. I still tend to pick the ugly duckling first from a new box or the one that is slightly different. No regrets here. Cheers 3
