Akela3rd Posted July 21, 2019 Posted July 21, 2019 I looked long and hard and couldn't find a real horror, which is nice, but did spot this PLPC which if not leprous certainly looked a little peaky. In the big scheme of things it's not awful, veiny, bit of a ribbon dent, slight lateral split and a damaged foot. It's from a PLPC cab so there's always a few less than perfect. There's no Quinteros or JLPs in my stock at the moment, unusually, and they can be proper ugly. I've recently had RyJ Cazadores almost bent double by the ribbon but they were smoked early cos I couldn't look at them. So, justification over - on to the cigar. The wrapper's a little bumped about and it's a little firm by the dent but the draw is good and it starts off with a blast of cedary sweetness. This cab's got two and a half years on it (I'm going through it waiting on another to hit the 5 year mark) and they're generally good. I had one a while back that was unsmokably solid but only the one. This is behaving itself well, lots of smoke, nice bakery type undertones to the cedar. Then a vertical split... but no drama thankfully. Milky coffee starts to appear in the second half mingling to make a continental breakfast of it.Another bit of wrapper makes a run for it in a half-hearted sort of way and again, no drama. Slight pepper tingle towards the band and a nice cakey finish. You can see where the famous caramel would fit in, but it doesn't quite make an appearance.A good cigar in the end, not that I was expecting an absolute horror, and not a lot else to say. PLPC are definitely inconsistent in construction, but generally a cab produces enough good ones to make them worthwhile.I'll look in that other one someday... Sent from 47171 Lempo 4
