I guess I can see the humor in the punchline, but it does bring back some painful memories. We actually went through this with my uncle. We finally just told him that she was out shopping.

Sorry to bring up bad memories and make light of a terrible disease that affects many people beyond the person suffering from dementia. I wish the best for your uncle and your family.

Thank you. My uncle passed several years ago. We have some sad memories after he was affected with Alzheimer’s, but he and my aunt were wonderful people and I have many more happy ones. I know you had no ill intentions and I appreciate your kind reply.
