David88 Posted March 31, 2019 Posted March 31, 2019 Partagas shorts are a great go-to cigar for me, a quick smoke but lots of flavour. This came from a box I bought when I visited Cuba a few years ago. Upon cutting the draw was great, easy enough but not loose. The cigar immediately kicked into life with pepper, leather and a somewhat toasty note to it. The body was medium. I have noticed that as I have been working through this box they are losing a bit of the edge they had when I first picked them up. That’s not a bad thing, but not necessarily good either. The flavour remained consistent throughout the cigar, the body picked up slightly towards the end but it didn’t get harsh at all which seems quite remarkable for such a small cigar. Overall I would have given this a 91 - a reliable cigar that hasn’t let me down so far. I’m torn between liking them with with a bit more bite in their early years to how they have developed though. I smoked this after work with a coffee and it was a bit too dark for pictures. I’ve uploaded one I took before though! 3
foursite12 Posted March 31, 2019 Posted March 31, 2019 Gratifying to read that I’m not alone in that thought process; I also have some from 2014 and have concluded that this is a cigar best enjoyed with its youthful slap in the face still intact.

Smoke time for me is around 45 minutes (I smoke fairy slowly) but I would imagine many would have one finished off in around 30 minutes or so. 11 hours ago, foursite12 said: Gratifying to read that I’m not alone in that thought process; I also have some from 2014 and have concluded that this is a cigar best enjoyed with its youthful slap in the face still intact. Jnewt64 Posted April 2, 2019 Posted April 2, 2019 The 2014's from the Partagas factory have been solid. Nice review.
