Hoyo is not a marca I have much of, not my favourite to date either but I think I just haven't had a good example yet (small sample size and all). This one has been in my humidor for a long time, I don't even know where I got it. very dark thin oily wrapper, not one of those fireproof LEs. Pairing it with a lovely oatmeal stout.

Cold draw: Clean tobacco and a sweetness coming through, draw is perfect.

Opening: Wood, all wood!

1/3: Wood is a bit overpowering, some coffee notes and a lingering cream profile on the finish, nothing else. The LE profile is absent.

2/3: More wood, dry smoke, burning well but not enjoying this at all. There is no underlying sweetness, no complexity, just dry wood profile.

3/3: Did not even make to the last third. I figured life is too short for this, let it go out and grabbed another (better) cigar to finish off the evening.

I am still searching for a spectacular example of HDM, It's out there somewhere as I often see reviews of HDM with profiles I would thoroughly enjoy, the search continues.

Will post some pics later on today.

Don't be so sure, sometimes it's really just a matter of personal taste! I've tried more then a few, and the DC was the only one I found enjoyable.

Nice short review, BTW!

Thanks!

That great Hoyo experience is out there. I like pretty much like all marcas, I only dislike bad cigars (individual).

Thanks for the review.

Man, this release was a dog rocket... I tried and tried but they just didn’t get any better so I finally sold my boxes.

It tells you something when a LE is still readily available 7 years after it came out.

I had seen your mention on these a while back stating the same sentiment if I remember correctly.

This cigar was horrible, glad I just had one! By far the worst LE I have ever had and probably the worst cigar I have smoked in the past 3-4 years at least.

Thats too bad to hear! I've had 2 in the past year that have been very good. 92-93 range cigars with lots of cream and stone fruit.
