Popular Post FatPete
I haven't smoked a Bolivar in a while, since my favourite Bolivar, the tubos No. 1 was deleted, so I picked out a BBF to smoke last night. However replacing my car stereo unexpectedly involved taking the dash apart and rewiring it to make it work, so I had to chose a smaller one given the time I had. This was the Bolivar Tubos No. 3, the first time that I had tried one. Bought June 18 as a single, unknown box code, stored at 63RH 66F and smoked on a cold foggy day. It's certainly a thin cigar, measuring 5" x 34 Ring Gauge, and in fact it wasn't quite straight, but it had a nice dark oily mottled wrapper. There was a nice cedar and tobacco smell from the cigar, and the same on the cold draw. The draw itself was snug, but opened up after the first inch. I paired it with what I usually have with a cigar, a Mojito. First third Upon lighting, a lovely aroma of roasted coffee filled the air, and that also was what I tasted. Smoke was thick and plentiful. A little earthy spice joined in, and it was medium full in body. The black coffee became intense, with a hint of sweetness Second third Even better, cream has been added to the espresso and it's full on the taste buds! Also up to full body. Last third Lips began to tingle with the addition of chilli spice to the coffee mix, though that faded into second place behind an earthy tobacco assault. Head began to spin a little now-boy these are strong little buggers ! I had to slow the pace right down, which made it go out a few times, but until then burnt perfectly. I loved the aroma. Although not for the faint hearted, this was the second best cigar of the year, behind the very different Partagas P2. Easily 8/10 for me. Believe it or not it took exactly 1 hour and 10 minutes to smoke this diminutive cigar, and it was a pleasure right to the end. I will get a box or two for sure. I do hope El Prez will get them in stock soon, and that their absence doesn't mean that they are no longer being rolled.

RDB
Nice review of an interesting cigar. You wouldn’t think that thing would fit in there! (Said the actress to the bishop.)
Jbhunter223
I’ve been contemplating picking up a box of these, not many reviews around though. After reading yours I plan to grab a box.

NSXCIGAR
BT3 is probably the most underappreciated cigar in the lineup. Never had a bad one. I just hate the vitola and the value is terrible. I will say that it might be the cigar that delivers the most with the least tobacco.

It can’t agree more with your take!

Unfortunately, the value there is even worse than the BT3.
