Yes, Sir Winstons and Fundies were top of my list and budget. The cost difference down there is so significant on those two.

For rum I got Santiago 12, HC7, HC Anejo Reserva (x2) and Mulata. Haven’t tried the Santiago yet, but the Mulata may be the best of the others.

Food is good but pricy in the restaurants. We had trouble finding simple places with cheap sandwiches, beans and rice in Old Havana. There were some small places in Vedado, but all the sandwiches would sell out quick.

I noticed this as well. I was expecting everything to be dirt cheap, but it is far from it. Granted, I didn't go out of my way to search for the cheap places...idk. I was just expecting it to be different. I'm bringing more money next time regardless.

What a great write up of a lovely trip-insanely jealous!

I hope to go maybe next year, mainly to try the customs. Never had one. Which was your favourite? Which regular production cigars do they most resemble? Thanks

I really only tried the Yolanda dalito/corona extra and Reynaldo robustos. I enjoyed the Reynaldos more.  In fact one was the best thing I smoked in 2018.  Both were fantastic. Not sure I could peg a similar regular production off the few of each that I had. Yolanda’s was more unique. It was stronger, darker, more mongrel, earthy and savory. Kind of like strong roast coffee and mushrooms. Also had some pepper. Reynaldo’s had classic twang and construction like a BHK and would probably be a mix of Monte and Cohiba flavors.

Here is the best cigar I had in 2018:

Sounds mouthwatering, especially the Reynaldos you described; I’d be very happy with a Monte/Cohíba cross, a Mohiba if you will.
