Popular Post Wilzc
Connossieur B Click hither for the Connie A review Got this from a PCC-LCDH event. Prelight typical Cuban. Construction is a little suspect, with lots of soft spots underneath the two sizable bands. Really soft! There’s nothing under the wrapper for sure! It’s like HSA is trying to make a tent from tobacco for the tiny visiting tobacco beetles. First puffs. HOLY MOLY. WHAT IS THIS? Toffee. Burnt caramel. Some spices and wood. Finish is a long and nice coffee tone. This cigar wastes no time in hitting full stride! The Connie A wasn't nearly as eager. Footsmoke is not as enjoyable as the Connie A but the flavor from the get go. None of that sweet hay, more of annoying spiced wood. Lol. Burn was very jagged but corrected itself an inch from the start. Salivating quite abit. Unsure why. This is definitely a bolder blend compared to the A. Second half the toffee and caramel evolves into something more of a nutty..... sorta... walnut and coffee mix with the spice toning down a little bit. There is also a sweetness about it. I cannot pinpoint what exactly. The finish is definitely sweet. Things evolved again at midway point. Twang is finally coming in but as a darker, earthier, woody twang. Aged tobacco, sweet and spiced wood. Bitter chocolate finish. Burn is wonky and requires touches up. On one side in particular. Forgot to take pictures, enjoying myself waaaay too much. Final 3rd. Cigar is medium full now. Dark damp earth, dark chocolate. Burnt coffee and.... soggy newspaper? Still such a great smoke! For some reason the 54RG hasn’t bothered me at all for this smoke. Maybe I have adapted! Final smoke time: 100 mins Final thoughts: 91-93 points. What a cigar HSA has made! Connie A is in serious trouble.... A versus B conclusions: These are rather similar sized cigars with B being a touch thicker and a touch longer. I’m a little baffled at HSA’s decision making. However it is apparent that B is a more modern blend and the A is, to me, more ‘traditional’. The A is a cigar that’s very true to its Cuban roots and probably require some rest before hitting full stride while the A is blended for the modern ‘instant gratification’ era. My preference.... B.
