Great email this morning from a lovely bloke getting into Cuban cigars for the first time. He was off to London and asked if  JJfox was a safe place to purchase cigars 

Naturally I said Foxy prefers if you take your own in but really gets a kick if you bring one for him to share. He prefers Jose Piedra.  "Tell him Rob says hello"

That's something I always wondered.

The cuban retailer can't be that big.

So @El Presidente how many other cigar retailers are you on a first name basis with around the world? ( if it's not too personal a question)

First a disclaimer: I am on a first name basis with Rob and he is exactly as you see him in this lovely video. The shop in St. James is not to be missed. And he is a great fan of Jose Piedra, the younger and fresher the better.

The Habanos retailer world is actually quite small IMO.  Whenever I travel to far away destinations and talk to retailers, they know the owners and personalities of other B&M's and distributors on different continents.
