LordAnubis Posted October 5, 2018 Posted October 5, 2018 So while I was evaluating individual plant crontorllers at my work. Doing the sneaky data behind the scenes to see which controller has the most plant run time, most production, best metal recovery etc. I was wondering. What happens to rollers? We apparently have no information on who rolled what? So how does a roller go from being a day old, to being one of the “best habanos rollers” that only works in El Laguito, to being a roller that gets to travel the world and go to casas. Is there someone checking people’s cigars? Why doesn’t that dude do QC? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
oliverdst Posted October 5, 2018 Posted October 5, 2018 what I know is that there is a kind of test to anyone who wants to be a roller. the ones who have a minimum hability starts a course and after that, if a score is reached, he/she is hired to work in one of the many factories in Cuba. I understand that there is a quality control and someone checks the skills of the roller in a regular basis. reaching level 9 I think he/she is able to go to the "best" factories. I am just speculating but I am pretty sure that to reach Laguito you must follow one of the two roads: exceptional skills or politics. maybe both? talking to a roller last june she told me that is a pain to travel around the globe. maybe it is an age issue but in her words "it's work. not tourism".
El Presidente Posted October 5, 2018 Posted October 5, 2018 Hamlet started in QC. The rollers gave him so much crap when he pulled them up that he went and started as a roller.
MD Puffer Posted October 5, 2018 Posted October 5, 2018 I've imagined the torcedors being in cliques like in high school. All the petit corona rollers socialize together and admire and want to hang out with the pyramides rollers who look down on them and there's a hushed silence whenever the Monty A rollers come in to work. 2 2
