PabloJr Posted September 10, 2018 Share Posted September 10, 2018 So a friend of mine told me he purchased a box Upmann Magnum 56 from his friend that gets sticks from Cuba. He then forwarded these pics to me. Now initially I thought they were cool, but then the font on the actual yellow band holding them together in the box threw me off. The magnum 56 print kinda looks like computer print. When I raised the concern he immediately got defensive. Hell I could be 10000% off base. Am I? That being said, why can your friend of a friend, as you say, not say where he bought them? Seems like a pretty simple question to me. First thing I noticed with your friend's box that it is 2015 EL with a 2016 date stamp. Maybe I am off base with that...... The font on the Magnum 56 on the ribbon is different too. Yea that ribbon font is what got my mind racing. He purchases from a guy who gets sticks from Cuba supposedly. I never questioned his sticks before...until now. He bought that from his friend who he multiple times tried to get me to buy from as well but it always seemed a bit off to me. Now I see this box he copped and I'm happy I never did go in on a buy with him. Another thing that got me was that he said the guy sold him the box for 300. Smh. He seems happy with em. When I initially brought up the ribbon font to him, he said he doesn't care, they're cubans.
